Learn from Other Successful Online Business
Hi everybody,
I just got done my interview with Kay Green from www.MyPreciousKid.com on my Blog Talk Radio show and let me tell you she gave some really great advice. When you get a chance listen in on the interview.
Kay has been in business online for over 8 years and she really shared alot today about her challenges and success in building that business.
She shared how she went from 3 orders a week to about 50 orders a day over a period of time by adding different marketing strategies into her business and staying consistent with the ones that work. If you could take just a little bit from her advice and apply it into your online business just think of the difference that could make to your bottom line.
I also came across a video today that I wanted to share with you on Lynn Terry’s blog–this video really struck a cord with me because it really summed up what it’s like to build a business online and to do it around your passion. As a woman in business myself building my business around my passion–(which is helping other moms learn to build a business online so they can work from home and have the awesome experience of raising their kids and bringing in an income with a successful business—wow that was a mouth full!!) this video was right on target. It really shows why I can’t recommend Lynn Terry’s Elite Group enough—this video just gives you a peek inside what Lynn’s forum has to offer–she really is a great mentor to follow.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Tips from an Experinced Online Store Owner
Hi guys! I just wanted to give you a heads up about the interview I will be conducting tomorrow with Kay Green the owner of www.MyPreciousKid.com on my BlogTalkRadio Show.
This interview is part of the series teaching how to start an online store and you won’t want to miss it.
Kay has had an online store since 2001 and has had some great success. I always love it when successful people are willing to share their tips and advice because I think we can all learn so much that way. They say the best way to become successful is to find someone already being successful at what you want to do and learn everything you can from them and then repeat it in your own way. Don’t try and reinvent the wheel–learn what works and then take action and use it.
So don’t forget to listen in tomorrow at 12:00 noon–she will be sharing some great advice on how to market your website and get some great exposure for your online business speaking from her experience of working online for 8 years.
So since we are on the subject of learning from great mentors–I also wanted to share with you another great place and person that I have learned a lot from recently. Her name is Lynn Terry and she is so generous with her knowledge and experience–I just recently joined Lynn Terry’s Elite Club and have honestly learned more in two weeks of being a member then I had all year. This membership is such a steal for what is offered there–I can’t rave about it enough. The forum is filled with other like-minded extremely helpful individuals and believe me you can’t go wrong–make sure you check it out if you want to learn as much as you can about building a business online and still stay on a reasonable budget while doing it.
Here is an interview with Lynn Terry and Nicole Dean that can give you some great insight about Lynn and what her knowledge is.
Have an awesome day!

Get Started Marketing with Video
I have some great tips for you today about marketing your business with Video.
I know that sounds a little scary for some people but believe me if I can do it you can do it too.
Marketing with video is a really hot topic right now online. If you aren’t doing it yet you should be because it really does help get traffic to your site and can give you a real presence online unlike nothing else.
Here are some basics to get you started and then if you are really interested in going full blown with this I have recommended some products and courses below that will teach you step by step how to market with video like a professional.
The first thing you need is a video camera that has the capability to download video to your computer. If you already have one that comes with a USB cable then you will just need to get some video editing software that will let you export an internet ready file. There are some free ones available like Windows Movie Maker or you can just do a search for free video editing software on Google.
I bought a little camera called a Flip camera that already has the sofware built right into it. You can find it right at WallMart for a little over $100.00. It was well worth the price because I also have used it to create email video birthday cards for my family and used it to make a little movie of my children’s school play. So it is doubling as a work/play camera. And it is soooo easy to use!
Next do a quick video about your business, what you have to offer, and how they can find you. Make sure your video looks professional and is interesting enough to catch peoples attention. Upload the video to You Tube and other similar video distribution places and you are ready to roll! Remember this is just a starting point to get you working with video and finding different avenues to promote your business. It doesn’t have to be perfect it just has to get out there in front of people so you can drive customers to your site.
Check out AskMrVideo.com for some great courses on marketing with video.

Tips on Building a Business Brand
When developing a business in todays world you really need to find a way to make yourself stand out from the crowd. You need to relate to your customer on a personal level and find ways to convey your qualities as a business to them to build trust and an ongoing relationship. Here are a few ways to start building that relationship.
- Provide relevant informative information on an ongoing basis showing that you are an authority in your industry. You could do this by blogging, having a newsletter, social networking, etc…the key is to be informative, trustworthy, and helpful.
- Using video to build a relationship with your customers is a very powerful tool. When doing business online sometimes it is hard for customers to establish a relationship unless they can really feel like they have met you in person and gotten to know a little about your personality. Video can do this for you. Use video on your blog and on YouTube to get your brand out there.
- Building relationships with other successful people in your industry or niche is a tremendous way to establish a powerful brand. Don’t ever underestimate the power of relationships–some of the best business ventures are achieved when you combine two like minded individuals with the same goals combing their knowledge and effort.
- Find your Unique Selling Point and market that to your customer. Why is your brand better or different than your competitors and why should the customer choose you over someone elses business–let them know why.
- Let your happy customers build your brand for you. Use customer testimonials and reviews to help build trust with your potential customers.
Be consistent with your brand building and most importantly be authentic!
Why is Email Marketing So Important?
One of the best and effective ways you can market your business is to your already existing customers.
Once someone buys from you their is an established level of trust, and as long as you are offering quality products and service then you will keep that trust. That is why staying in touch with your customers is so important to the strength of your business.
Email Marketing is a great way to do this. Here are some tips on getting your customers to sign up for your email list or newsletter and keeping their interest.
- Offer them something fabulous for exchange of them signing up. So it is a benefit to them and you. An example would be a free book, or a discount coupon, or even a free product. It has to be beneficial to them in order for them to be willing to give you their email.
- Be consistent with your emails–if your customer expects to receive you newsletter weekly–then make sure you deliver it weekly, or if you advertise a monthly discount code–make sure you send them the code each month. Customers love when you follow through on what you are promising–that is how you build trust and respect for your business.
- Once they are on your list—do not try to sell to them everytime you send them a message. Provide them with helpful information that they will benefit from. Always give more then you take and go above and beyond what is expected and then you can’t go wrong. Your customers will love you for it!
- Final tip is try not to be too long winded—nowadays everyone is busy, busy, busy and if you try to make your emails too long your customer won’t have time to read it let alone follow through into buying from you.
How To Add Google Analytics to Your Site
Adding Google Analytics to your wordpress blog is a great way to keep track of your progress. This is the best way to see where your visitors are coming from and how many people are visiting your website.
For someone who is not very technical when it comes to working with websites adding google analytics to your website may seem overwhelming–but trust me once you have a step by step instruction on how to do it–it is very easy–and well worth the effort.
Steps On How To Add Google Analytics To Your Wordpress Blog
- Download the Google Analytics Plugin to your desktop and unzip the plugin
- Upload the plugin into your websites wp-content/plugins folder in your cpanel hosting account
- In your wordpress blog’s dashboard under plugins activate the google analytics plugin–you should receive a success message once complete.
- Go to your google account and login to http://google.com/analytics
- To set up your new website in the google analytics account–click on add website profile
- Then click on add profile for a new domain
- Enter the URL of your website and select the appropriate country and time zone.
- Google Analytics will then provide you with a block of html code–copy this code
- Then go to your wordpress blog admin–under appearance–edit–go to the footer php section and paste the code into the footer right before the <body>tag on the page. You can add this code to any webpage that you want to track on your site the same way.
- Go back to your google analytics profile and check the status to see if it was added correctly.
Those are the basics–if you have any questions or problems you can always contact me or there are also some quick instructions on setting it up in your google analytics account area. Good Luck!
