Spring is one of my favorite times of year … beautiful flowers blooming, warm weather, and the possibility of great new things to come.  Just like with anything in life sometimes in order for new things to have room to grow sometimes you need to go through what you currently have and weed out what’s not working.

A few Spring Cleaning Tips for your Social Media Marketing Channels

  • Review and Evaluate your Bio’s on all of your social media pages.  As your business naturally grows over time some of the things that you once thought were important to highlight in your bio may not be the key thing to focus on anymore. Also all of the social media channels are continually changing things up so you want to make sure what you put in your bio 6 months ago still works best with any new guidelines, features etc… that each social media channel puts focus on.  Some main factors to make sure to include in your bios are keywords focused on your business offerings, links to your website and products where allowed, and also make sure you are being consistent on all of your pages so that your branding carries through the same every where online.
  • Have you freshened up your custom backgrounds and designs on Facebook, Youtube, and Twitter lately?  It is important to keep the look of your brand consistent throughout the web but there is nothing wrong with changing it up a little bit to freshen things up.  To celebrate the Spring season think about adding new designs for your pages to represent your brand in a fresh new way!  Especially with the new looser guidelines around the Facebook Covers rules, this is a great time to take advantage of putting some new things on your Cover focused around what your business has to offer.
  • For all of you Girls Scouts out there … Make new friends, but keep the old. One is Silver and the other’s Gold!  Connecting with new people through your social media channels is one of the best things you can do to grow your reach.  This should actually be a daily task that you incorporate into your social media marketing strategy but Spring is a great time to review how you are going about doing this and even explore some  new strategies to add into the mix of finding new groups or channels of people to connect with. Every new person  you connect with brings a great new opportunity to build relationships and potential new customers.

These are just a few tips to get you started with cleaning up your social media channels and keeping things fresh, as with anything in business it is all a process of growing.  In order to keep moving towards your goals you need to stay on top of what’s new and adjust as needed.

The world of social media is an ever changing media that takes a constant eye to keep up with … so make sure to go through these steps every few months (if not every month) to make sure you are not only keeping your brand fresh on social media but you are also keeping up with all the new changes that continue to occur.
