If you’re a business owner or content creator, having professional brand photos is key to showing up consistently online. But… what if you could create AI-generated brand photos that look polished, on-brand, and uniquely you—without booking a photographer?
This tutorial walks you through how to create custom AI headshots and branding photos using Fal.AI. Whether you’re posting on Instagram, Pinterest, or building your website, these steps will help you create gorgeous visuals in minutes.
Here are a few examples of some images I created for my brand with this exact system!
Step 1: Create a Fal.AI Account
Go to https://fal.ai and set up your free account.
Once inside, add $10–$20 in credits—enough to train the model and start generating brand images. ($20 actually gave me about 100 images)
Step 2: Find the Portrait Trainer Tool
Search for the Flux LoRA Portrait Trainer on the Fal.AI dashboard. This tool uses your photos to create a custom image model just for you.
Click on it to get started.
Step 3: Upload 15–20 Clear Photos of Yourself
Choose well-lit images showing different angles, expressions, and outfits.
Rename each image using this format:a_photo_of_yourname.jpg
Example: a_photo_of_katieprickett.jpg
This naming format tells the AI to associate the images with your trigger phrase (explained next).
Step 4: Set Your Trigger Phrase
Use the same name from your file as your trigger phrase, like:katieprickett
Then hit Start Training and let the system process your images. It usually takes a few minutes.
Step 5: Click “Run Interface”
Once training is complete, click Run Interface to begin generating your AI images.
Step 6: Enter Your Custom AI Prompt
This is where the magic happens.
Start your prompt with your trigger phrase and describe the type of brand photo you want with a detailed prompt. I have included the prompt I started out with below.
✨ Here is the starting prompt I used for my images:
katieprickett A hyper realistic clone of a woman with wavy strawberry blonde hair, white blouse, blue jeans, and leopard print flats, standing next to a creative desk in a bright, cozy studio, surrounded by mood boards and stationery. Warm indoor natural light, casual and authentic lifestyle photography style, soft background blur, confident and relaxed posture, light smile
Then go to Additional Settings and adjust the Guidance Scale to 10 for optimal visual detail. If you don’t get the results you want you can adjust the guidance scale till you achieve the best results.
Click Run—and enjoy your brand-new AI-generated headshots and images!

- Add emotional tone words like “confident,” “welcoming,” or “inspired”
- Batch create a full gallery of assets for your website, email, and social media
- Combine with tools like Canva for polished overlays and graphic design
